N Brown - Colder weather boosts sales

After a weak period of trading, shares in multi-channel clothing retailer N Brown bounced following a reassuring update. While third quarter like-for-like sales fell 2.3% reflecting the disastrous September where like-for-like were -10.8% October was +1.5% and November recovered to +3% as more normal (i.e. colder) weather boosted demand.Its active customer base (those purchasing in the past 12 months) grew 2% while it has improved the customer experience online, boosting online sales to 60% of the total.Four new stores of the combined Simply Be / Jacamo formats opened in Oxford Street, Merry Hill, Norwich and Edinburgh while sales from all its land-based stores rose a strong 78%.In the US there was steady growth with pr ...
