The shares soared to a new high of 166p after Photo-Me announced that trading in Japan was around 90% higher year-on-year in November and December and if this continues for the next four months of the financial year then results will be materially ahead of expectations. The catalyst was the introduction of new My Number Cards (with photo) for every resident in Japan from 2016, which are used primarily for tax and social security purposes.Earlier interims were in line with expectations, the highlight being the first increase in revenue for several years on a constant currency basis. Revenues rose 2.4% to £98.7m, while pretax profit was up 9% to £27.7m. Net cash rose 5% to £67.8m, while dividend was up 10% to 2.575 ...
