Supergroup - Retail profits rise 36% in H1

A rather bizarre broker note was published the day before Supergroup’s interims, claiming the mild winter weather would leave it with too much stock, which would have to be sold off cheaply but this scenario never happened. Supergroup’s figures were very strong, with revenues and pretax profit rising 22% and 54%, respectively, to £254.7m and £19.3m. Net cash rose from £67m to £80m and it has declared a maiden 6.2p interim dividend.The retail side grew sales 31% to £172m with profit rising 36% to £19.1m.
