One of my New Year Naps for 2023, published last month,  is Central Asia Metals (CAML), which uses unconventional but highly profitable chemical processes to  extract (or leach) copper from waste dumps in Kazakhstan. As I write this, copper has enjoyed its strongest five-day gain powering through US$9,000/tonne with traders betting on increased Chinese demand (UK broker SP Angel points out that copper calls are at their highest level on Comex since 2021). Speculative traders are betting on copper to hit US$10-12,000/tonne by September, helped by the rapid reopening of the Chinese economy and news that China’s state grid will invest US$77bn into the nation’s infrastructure this year, boosting demand for copper.   Cop ...
