This section should be viewed as raw material for investment ideas, rather than  recommendations.  Comparisons in sectors  are based on the period between  17/11/03 and 11/12/03. TheFTSE-100 went one step better than last time, breaking through 4,400 and holding on  for a full day, but any hint of euphoria was nipped in the bud as it subsequently fell back into its previous 4,300-4,400 range.  The other indices were equally quiet and it was generally a difficult month to make money with only 10 of the 30 FTSE sectors showing any gains.  The best performer was the Real Estate sector, which rose 6.6% and is now up 26% since January 2003.  The catalyst is the UK Government's ...
