Shares in business parcel delivery firm, Business Post, reacted to excellent interim results by hitting a new high of 610p at one point before settling at 600p, a useful 106p ahead of our main recommendationlast January. For the six months ended 30 September, pretax profit increased 12% to £9.1m on a 23% rise in turnover to £110m, while earnings rose 10% to 11.8p. Business Post's core business parcel service, Express, (59% turnover), which supplies reliable next day deliveries backed up by sophisticated IT systems, enjoyed a 6% increase in sales and Express now has 20,000 customers, a market share of around 7.5%.
