The strong early showing by Australian gold explorer, Mercator Gold,whose shares soared to a 35% opening day premium after being placed on AIM at 6p in early October,  is probably down to three factors.  The backdrop of a gold price sitting close to 16 year highs at US$455 / oz is certainly one.
