The shares have hit a new high of 530p and stand a useful 101p aheadof our main recommendation in May. The catalyst for this strong performance was a good set of interim results, for the six months ended30 September, which showed a 22% rise in pretax profit before goodwill to £11.5m, on turnover up nearly 24% to £99m.  Recent acquisitionsof Multi Group and Coates Rentair are now contributing to the top line but their lower levels of profitability (which we expect to eventually improve towards Speedy's levels) have temporarily depressed overall profit margins.
