Shares in Homeserve, which sells insurance policies to cover emergency repair services to the home, have increased by 378p since we made them a main recommendation in March and its latest interim results fully justified this performance. For the six months ended 30 September, pretax profit rose 18% to £13.1m, while turnover, helped by a £47m contribution from two acquisitions, increased by 70% to £150m. Earnings rose nearly 17% to 14p. This performance was driven by a 37% increase in the total number of policies to 4.84m.
