Shares in business exhibitions organiser Tarsus have moved to a new high of 257p after it announced the acquisition of an 80% stake in Medical Conferences International (MCI), for an initial US$36m, rising by up to a further US$10m if future targets are hit. The initial consideration is being partially funded by a vendor placing of 5.3m shares, raising approx. £11m. Founded in 2003, MCI owns and operates the three leading medical sector exhibitions and conferences in the US anti-ageing market, which take place annually in Orlando (April), Chicago (July) and Las Vegas (December).
