At its AGM, five-a-side football pitch operator Powerleague noted that sales and profits have continued to grow in the first 21 weeks of the current financial year, while its cash position remains strong. H1 has seen three new centres opening in Cardiff, Milton Keynes and the City of London and they should all make positive contributions in the second half. Powerleague is also on course to open two new centres, including one in Shrewsbury, in H2. Meanwhile, it has continued to upgrade its existing estate with seven more centres being refurbished with the latest fifth generation pitches. The shares have proven resilient in a falling market and with the fundamentals so strong, we expect them to inch towards the recent high of 115p. ...
