Five-a-side football pitch operator Powerleague has announced at its AGM that in the first 21 weeks of its financial year total revenues are up significantly on last year and despite the economic downturn its margins are stable. Powerleague is also a major beneficiary of those deep interest rate cuts as a significant amount of debt is on terms linked to the base rate. The rise in turnover reflects the benefits from the four new centres opened in 2008 and also the successful integration of the five Soccerdome centres, while its autumn marketing campaign has yielded good returns and has resulted in improved levels of bookings at these centres.
