Utilities reseller Telecom Plus has again shone through the economic gloom with interim results highlighting further strong growth. For the six months to 30 September revenue increased 25% to £89m leading to a 55% rise in pretax profit to £9.8m. Profits were boosted by the increase in gross margin from 20.4% to 24.6%, which came thanks to rising wholesale energy prices and better telephony margins. Eps rose 64% to 10.8p, while net cash fell from £36.8m to £28.9m, largely reflecting the £9m purchase in September of new freehold offices in order to accommodate further growth.
