The guarded optimism shown at ITE's Q4 update has been transformed into a much more confident outlook statement and better than expected full year results, sending the shares to a new high of 235p. Results themselves for the year to 30 September showed pretax profit falling from £41.5m to £36.6m with eps down from 12.7p to 11.6p (against forecasts of pretax £34.7m and eps of 10.6p) with the decline reflecting an “off year†for its largest biennial event and a low point for its more cyclical events, particularly in construction, when compared with top-of-market conditions prevailing in 2008.  A clue to the future is that net cash held steady at £23m in spite of investing £20m in the business in the year and refl ...
