The relentless squeeze on incomes would appear to be playing into the hands of pawnbroker Albemarle & Bond, which noted at its AGM that its good trading has continued. Within its pawnbroking side the pledge book has increased against strong comparatives the previous year, while it has opened 10 full line stores and expects to open 25 in the current financial year.
