MP Evans has secured 20,000 hectares in South Sumatra, Indonesia for US$5.5m where it will develop further oil-palm plantations. The cost is US$275 per hectare. The ultimate area of land to be planted will only be clarified once compensation is agreed with people who currently farm the land.
