The omens might not look good for the January sales but as the share price chart below shows, shares in Topps Tiles, the UK's largest ceramic tile retailer in the UK, look on the cusp of breaking out of their trading range. Like many in general retail, Topps Tiles was once a successful concept retailer with a niche format that it rolled around the country but it was severely battered by the fall-out from the credit crunch - so now the shares stand at one-sixth of the 310p high recorded in April 2007.
