Paypoint, which operates a payment collection network to help consumers pay their household bills in cash at their local store, issued interims marginally ahead of expectations with revenues, pretax profit and eps up 9.7%, 16.6% and almost 19% respectively. Net cash was Â£23.5m (H1 2013: Â£46.6m), reflecting the earlier payment of a special dividend. UK & Ireland retail increased revenues 9.4%, driven by the installation of 400 new ATMs, 900 credit / debit card sites and 300 money transfer sites, along with recent energy price hikes driving volumes in bill and general payments.
