The shares hit a new high of £6 after self storage operator Big Yellow posted strong interims with pretax profit and eps increasing 29% to £18.4m and 13p respectively. Net asset value per share rose 6% to 462p.Excitingly, all key metrics showed strong progress with wholly-owned store occupancy growing 14% year-on-year to 2.63 million sq. ft; the 32 established stores increased occupancy from 75.2% to 79.8% while the 24 “lease-up” stores went from 62.8% to 68%. These results reflect rising confidence in Big Yellow’s London and South-East core, with enquiry levels up 11% and total customer move-ins 9% ahead.
