Lavendon, the provider of powered access platforms such as “scissor lifts” put out a confident update for the third quarter, the keynote being improvements to revenue, margins and return on capital employed (ROCE) in spite of strong foreign exchange headwinds.In the UK (47% revenues) rental revenues grew 8%, thanks to further price rises and favourable mix improvement, with a greater demand for bigger, higher margin machines generally used in the earlier stages of construction projects and fewer higher volume / smaller units typically used in finishing projects.Within Continental Europe, there was a notable improvement in its German business (18% sales) where revenues only declined 2% versus 9% the previous quarte ...
