Shares in the food services operator, renowned for its Upper Crust and Café Ritazza brands, soared almost vertically to a new high of 647p after results were ahead of expectations and a special dividend payout of c. £100m was announced (around 21p a share).Revenues, profit and eps rose 19.5%, 37% and 31% respectively to £2,379m, £148.7m and 20.3p, helped by favourable currency swings and margin gains. Like-for-like sales rose 3%, while net contract gains increased 8.5%, benefiting from recently opened operations in Chicago Midway Airport and strong contract retention.Broadly speaking, its food services operations in airports were strong while rail was pretty flat but every region was impressive.
