Following a rare bum deal, which saw him nurse a nasty loss on a US airline, billionaire investor Warren Buffett once admitted he would see a shrink the next time he considered such a move. But that was way before the advent of low cost or “no frills” airlines whose headline grabbing fares have taken the sector by storm; industry figures show the global low cost airlines market was valued at US$118bn in 2016, and is projected to reach US$208bn in 2023, registering a CAGR of 8.6% from 2017 to 2023.
