Loungers has received a bid from private equity firm Fortress, at 310p per share, a 30% premium to the previous day’s closing price. Loungers’ directors (with 7.5%) have accepted the offer, which values the group on a prospective PE of around 20x, hardly a knock-out given its strong balance sheet and tremendous growth prospects. Indeed, three major investors are said to be voting against. A main write-up at 112p in September ‘20 and most recently at 275p in September ‘24, the gain is as much as 172%. Await developments. ...
