Shares in engineering contractor Kentz have risen almost 60% this year as investors have started to bet that recovering energy prices will help its end markets, which are focused in the oil & gas and petrochemical sectors. Kentz has done nothing to dissuade this theory, having announced three contract wins in June alone. The most recent was a AUS$500m contract, won by its Australian joint venture, to design and construct a construction village (it provides the accommodation blocks and support infrastructure such as power, water and telecoms) on Barrow Island in Western Australia as part of a project to develop several gas fields off the NW coast.Meanwhile, at its AGM on 11 June Kentz noted that trading is in line with e ...
