Hargreaves Services - Setback at Maltby reduces eps forecast

Hargreaves has announced a significant setback with unusual geological conditions at its Maltby coal mine involving increasing ingress of water, oil and gas 1900 metres underground, which meant it has had to suspend work preparing for the next face change. One wonders whether Hargreaves will ultimately look to divest Maltby, given that the inherent volatility of running a deep coal mine does not sit well with its other more predictable activities.
