Almost every day we read about desperate attempts by the Government to cut public spending to reduce the budget deficit and one way they are addressing  this is to invite private sector firms to manage the country's assets in a cheaper and more efficient way. While this may seem like unglamorous work it has provided an extremely positive backdrop for defence firm, Babcock, which has increased eps almost seven-fold from 9p to 61p in the past ten years.
