Population growth, immigration and an increase in new housing starts in London and the South East are cited as key factors for an improvement in self-storage group Big Yellow’s results for the year to March. These showed revenues, pretax profit and eps rising 4%, 15% and 5% respectively to £72.2m, £29.2m and 20.2p. The dividend was also hiked 49% to 16.4p. Net debt fell from £230.5m to £226.1m, which represents a loan to value of 28% (2013: 30%), while interest cover improved from 3.5 to 4.1 times.
