Although shares in Paypoint have traded sideways since we tipped them a year ago, final results unveiled sound progress. The company, which operates a payment collection network to help consumers pay their household bills in cash at their local store, increased revenues, pretax profit and eps 2%, 11.5% and 16.1% respectively to £212m, £46m and 52.6p. Within Bill & General, which covers prepaid energy, bills and cash out services, revenues rose 7% to £54m, which was slightly above expectations, in spite of a mild UK winter, with growth mainly thanks to a 54% jump in Romanian bill payment transactions.
