The shares surged after Scapa announced results slightly ahead of expectations, while management are mulling a Premium listing, which could drive them higher still. Sales, pretax profit and eps rose 8%, 16.7% and 31% to £226m, £11.2m and 7.2p respectively, the latter boosted by a lower tax rate. Encouragingly, net cash rose from £2.2m to £5.4m. Within Healthcare, which supplies medical tapes, such as disposable adhesive pads for medical devices that attach to patients and advanced woundcare products, sales rose almost 21% to £69.2m and profits increased 21% to £10.2m.
