A pleasing update from Howden, which noted a 9.4% rise in UK revenues for the 16 weeks to 18 April, or 7% on a same store basis. This is robust especially given that it had one less trading day due to the timing of Easter while there were no ill effects from the General Election build-up.Management expects to open another 30 depots this year, with six having opened so far, which takes the total to 595.Originally tipped at 130p in August ‘12 and most recently last February at 407p, the shares have soared to a new high, making for gains of 303% and 29% respectively.
