A sparkling rise in the shares to a new high of 350p followed strong interims, which showed revenues, pretax profit and eps rising 22%, 45% and 20% respectively to £43.7m, £7m and 5.5p. Cash flow increased 67% to £9.2m, which meant that in spite of £3.6m capital spending, net cash increased from £0.2m to £3m.Café Valerie, its part patisserie, part café concept, increased sales almost 19% to £28.9m. Several new seasonal products launched including a winter menu and afternoon tea, which boosted revenues, as did voucher deals from promotional websites and the launch of a new website in January, which has a “create a cake” feature.Its other brands also performed ...
