Since our tip at 255p last October the shares have performed well, hitting a high of 315p before a pull-back on profit taking. Interims from the company, which operates 2,000 food services outlets in railway stations and airports, branded Upper Crust and Café Ritazza, increased revenues 2.6% (3% like-for-like) on constant currency to £859m. However, a better than expected increase in operating margins from 2.3% to 2.9% meant operating profit rose 35% to £25.2m while eps rose 62% to 2.1p.By territory, the UK performed best with profits rising almost £5m to £18m on flat sales of £343m.
