A strong update sent the shares flying to new highs of 745p. Cineworld noted group revenues rose 15.8% on a like-for-like basis (21.3% on an actual basis) in the 19 weeks to 12 May. It was a poorly kept secret in truth with UK cinema data previously disclosing an 11% spike in admissions in Q1 but nevertheless very satisfactory.The UK (55% EBITDA) grew sales 17.3% (against strong comparatives: +5.3% a year ago) with box office revenues 15.9% higher and retail income up 19%.
