The shares bounced after a strong first quarter update from ITV, which noted revenues increasing 5%, driven by a 3% increase in its main advertising division, Broadcast & Online, thanks to a 6% rise in its share of viewing and a 41% jump in online revenue. This reflects its strong schedule with Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Dancing on Ice and Saturday Night Take Away performing well in ratings.Its other division, ITV Studios, achieved 11% revenue growth (like-for-like: +9%) thanks to a solid slate of new and returning programs internationally.The outlook is also encouraging with total advertising expected to rise 2% in H1 ’18 although profits over H1 will reflect the timing of the Football World Cup.
