Menzies has announced that “underlying profitability is running ahead of management’s expectations.” Cost savings, alongside strong passenger volumes in the USA led to ground and fuelling services beating expectations and there was good trading in Australia (new contracts) and New Zealand. The only weak region is EMEA, where ongoing pandemic-related travel restrictions have snookered ground and fuelling services although Cargo “stands out as performing well.” New contract wins continue including with a United Airlines cargo business in Sydney and the largest ever cargo contract in Menzies’ history with Avianca in Miami.
