Emerald Energy, an oil exploration and production company with interests in Colombia, has undergone a remarkable transformation from a small company whose survival was in question to one which some analysts believe is showing similar growth characteristics to an early stage Burren Energy. Emerald's production has soared by more than four-fold to over 3,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) since 2003 and thanks to several recent discoveries, this figure is expected to double again by the end of this year before closing towards 10,000 in 2006.
