Shares in Zetar, the "buy-and-build" confectionery firm, have sprung to life following another acquisition and most recently with the news that its results for the year ended 30 April will beat expectations. The acquisition was of Readifoods, a supplier of premium quality dried fruit and nut blends to customers such as Tesco and Morrison, which will form the basis of a new "natural snack food" division. Readifoods, which was established in 1985 and is based in Sleaford, Lincolnshire, made sales of £13.7m and operating profit of £0.8m in 2005.
