In a trading update ahead of entering its close period, in respect of its half year results to 30 April, decoy countermeasures firm Chemring noted that it had continued to perform well with trading in line with expectations. The group’s order book continues to grow and prospects for 2007 look promising. Chemring also noted that the performance of its recent acquisition of Simmel has been encouraging and will be earnings enhancing in its first full year post completion. Although the shares have seemingly entered a period of consolidation, the forecasts for earnings to grow to 106p this year, rising sharply to 138p next, is reason to hold on. ...
