High commodity prices have again helped Aquarius Platinum achieve another set of record results. In its third quarter to 31 March, Aquarius achieved a 59% increase in net profit to US$90.8m, giving eps of 35.4 cents. This was driven by an unprecedented surge in commodity prices, including a 32% rise in platinum and rhodium to US$2,000 / oz and US$9,025 / oz respectively, while palladium rose 20% to US$445. As a result, Aquarius achieved a record group average basket price of US$1,981 / oz, up 26% on the previous quarter.
