Shares in New World Resources (NWR), the largest producer of coking coal in the Czech Republic, have enjoyed a flying start following a recent introduction to the Full List by heavyweight brokers Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan Cazenove. The shares were priced at the top of their 1075p to 1325p range and have already risen to 1565p as investors have latched onto the fact that demand for steel (which is the main market for coking coal) has soared on the back of the rapid industrialisation going on in China and parts of the Middle East.NWR boasts a fabulous record with its profit after tax more than doubling from Eu 86m in 2005 to Eu 196m in 2007 but this doesn't tell the whole story by any means.
