UK Coal - Soaring prices make deep mines very profitable

There were sharp intakes of breath following the latest forecast from the Goldman Sachs analyst who brazenly predicted three years ago that oil would hit US$100 a barrel. This time he thinks prices will smash through US$200 a barrel within the next six months and few would bet against this given the combination of continuing high demand and tightness of supply. While oil is the most obvious way to play this energy super spike there has also been a huge surge in related commodities such as coal.
