There were sharp intakes of breath following the latest forecast from the Goldman Sachs analyst who brazenly predicted three years ago that oil would hit US$100 a barrel. This time he thinks prices will smash through US$200 a barrel within the next six months and few would bet against this given the combination of continuing high demand and tightness of supply.
