In spite of tough times for retailers there are occasional jewels if you dig deep enough and one success story is homewares specialist Dunelm, which recently put out a trading update that showed profits to be running well ahead of brokers' expectations. Having grown into a chain of over 100 stores, Dunelm has found itself in a virtuous circle, whereby its increasing size has extracted better prices from suppliers and by immediately passing these benefits on to customers its market share has grown at a tremendous rate.
