Petrofac has released a positive trading and AGM statement, which noted that trading continues in line with expectations, with net profit expected to rise at least 15% this year. Cash balances have ballooned from US$1.1bn. to US$1.7bn. The order intake was US$2bn in the year to date, thanks to major awards in Algeria, Iraq and Malaysia, with the group order backlog rising from US$11.7 bn. to US$12.3 bn. In its largest division, Engineering & Construction, Petrofac has made a good start to the second phase of the South Yoloten project in Turkmenistan, while it also expects to bid on a number of projects in Iraq in the coming months.
