Womenswear value retailer Bonmarche, whose shares have enjoyed a tremendous debut since floating last November at 200p, is almost unique on the high street in that it specialises in selling clothing to the over 50s while also catering to plus size ladies, with its range starting from size 12 and going right up to size 24. Broker Investec believes that aside from upmarket ladies retailer, Evans and classic value specialists like Bhs, Matalan and N Brown’s Marisota range, Bonmarche has little direct competition, which gives it a wonderful opportunity to exploit a plus size market, which is forecast to grow 30% to £6.9bn by 2018.
