Who would have thought when we profiled Scapa at 68.5p in May ‘12 that the shares would be above 400p today but an impressive sequence of “ahead of” announcements have got us here. The latest such update on 13th April noted “group revenue, trading profit and margins are all ahead of expectations.” In the light of that, Arden has upgraded eps forecasts nearly 4% to 14.2p for year to March ’17, with 15.1p expected in ’18.Healthcare (advanced woundcare and medical tapes) grew revenues 16.5% or 5% at constant exchange rates, including a contribution from EuroMed, acquired for US$35m in May ’16.
