When Brent oil prices fell from US$112 / barrel in June ’14 to just US$35 / barrel at the start of ‘16 it seemed the world would end for oil exploration & production shares but the picture has brightened dramatically in their favour in recent months.The seeds for recovery were sown by a pact between Saudi Arabia, de-facto leader of oil cartel, OPEC and Russia, the world’s largest oil & gas producer, which reduced joint output by 1.8m barrels a day and this has eliminated a massive over supply in global stocks of 340m barrels to a position close to its long-term average. With the decks cleared, animal spirits have led an exciting rally to US$75 a barrel, with bulls pointing to Saudi’s recent comments ...
