Smart Metering Systems confirmed continued strong progress at its results. In the year ended December revenues increased 24% to £98.5m, with pretax rising 13% to £25.1m. Eps fell to 18.3p (2017: 19.9p) reflecting higher shares in issue. Net debt was £142m (2017: £36.5m) reflecting £128m of capex expansion spend leaving un-drawn facilities of £138m (2017: £244m).Total gas and electricity metering and data assets increased by 1.1m to 3.13m under management. Total gas meters including third party management assets rose 65% to 2,106,000 while industrial & commercial meters rose 6% to 173,000.
