Shares in Telecom Plus have been an extraordinary investment, rising from £1.50 in 2005 to a peak of £25 in late 2022. And its financial performance backs this up as between FY’05-’23 sales have increased from £100m to £2,475m, pretax profit from £10m to £96.2m and eps from 11.7p to 97.6p, gains of almost 25x, 9.6x and 8.3x, respectively! It churns out so much cash that the dividend has risen over seven-fold from 11p to 80p yet it carries only modest gearing.
