Ask eased fears of a profit warning when it issued a trading statement on 6 January indicating that like-for-like sales had "improved" (Ask never gives specifics) in December.   Meanwhile, trading in the 20 restaurants opened in 2002 has also been encouraging and results for the year ended 29 December will be "in linewith expectations."   Ask currently trades from 146 outlets and plans are in hand to add a further 25-30 restaurants in 2003.
