Inter Link Foods - Ninth deal triggers more share gains

News of another acquisition, as well as excellent interim results, caused the shares to storm to a new high of 700p at one point, while the current price represents an increase of 209p since our main recommendation last August. Its latest acquisition, its ninth and largest to date, is Yorkshire Cottage Bakeries (YCB), which produces a range of Christmas cakes which will be new to the group, as well as small buns, mini rolls, cake bars and slab cakes. In the year ending 31 December 2004, YCB generated sales of £20m and underlying operating profit of £2m and fully taxed, the exit PE multiple is 8.7, which will make it earnings enhancing in 2006.
